The parallel blue stripes really transform harsh streetlights into cinematic beams, giving my footage that sci-fi vibe I was after. The anamorphic glow effect is much more pronounced than I expected from such a simple filter.

Shot some neon signs at night and the parallel blue stripes made every highlight stretch sideways like a proper anamorphic lens. I was worried it'd look fake in daylight but the effect only really kicks in with strong point lights.

The blue streaks through strong point lights are exactly what I wanted for night shots. Set a single lamp in frame and the parallel lines stretch across the whole image without looking fake. It's a subtle effect if you want it to be, dramatic if you push the light source.
